Effective date: October 11, 2026
Civic Parent is a volunteer, non-commercial educational blog by Brigid D’Souza. Here’s how I handle your information.
What I collect and why
I use simple virtual sign-up sheets, one for each topic, such as General Updates or the Book Club. When you sign up, the only thing I collect is your email address. Your email is then added to that topic’s list, and I use it only to send you updates on that topic. I never sell, rent, or trade your information.
This site runs on WordPress and uses a few tools that may collect basic technical data, such as your IP address, browser, and pages visited, and may use cookies:
- MailPoet manages the sign-up sheets and sends my emails. It may record whether an email was opened or a link clicked.
- Google Site Kit / Analytics provides aggregate traffic statistics.
- Jetpack handles site performance and security.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe or change topics anytime, using the link in any email or the Manage Email Updates page. Unsubscribed addresses stay on record as “unsubscribed” so you won’t be emailed again.
Good to know
- This site is written for adults and doesn’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
- Signing up doesn’t create an accountant-client relationship. See my Disclaimer.
- I’ll post any changes here with a new effective date.
