Sharing...from the Dr. Michael Conti School PS #5 PTA Advocacy Team
Jersey City's school funding crisis is NOT resolved. City Council -- #FundOurSchools!!
-
Keep the pressure on City Hall.
Demand that Mayor Fulop & City Council:
FUND OUR SCHOOLS!!
Jersey City's school funding crisis is NOT yet resolved. There are still over 100 pink slips that have not been rescinded. These are teachers, aides, principals, vice principals, custodians, security guards, office staff, nurses and counselors.
The PTA Advocacy Team at Dr. Michael Conti PS #5 School created this email campaign to keep the pressure on City Council and Mayor Fulop as they determine next year's budget. I am sharing on CivicParent to help spread the word & the advocacy.
We need our City leadership to ensure our schools receive full funding both in the short-term and longer-term. We are asking all concerned parents and residents who care about this issue to send an email to the city council representative for your “ward," the mayor, and the Board of Education trustees.
Tips:
Send individual emails addressed directly to each councilperson and board trustee. You can copy and paste the letters below. If you want, you can also send a single email using the form below.
What Should the Email Say:
Below is a template email you can use - feel free to edit and make it your own!
Jersey City's school funding crisis is NOT resolved.
City Council -- #FundOurSchools!!
You can use the automated email below from the PTA Advocacy Team at Dr. Michael Conti School PS #5. The form below will send the note (which you are free to customize) to Mayor Fulop, all the council representatives, and the respective Council aides. The Board of Education trustees will be copied. If you don't want to send to all of those individuals at once, simply copy/paste the note below into your email and send to a subset of representatives. If you don't know your city ward and/or representative - use the map below to find out!
All the city officials' and BOE trustees' contact information is provided at the bottom of this page for your reference.
Advocate in the manner you feel most comfortable.
